Sunset Island is a part of Ocean City, MD and all codes and laws are enforceable on Sunset Island. This includes the prohibition of open containers of alcohol in any common area.

Maryland law requires all bicyclists 16 and younger wear a helmet.

State law also requires all children under the age of 13 to wear a United States Coastal Guard approved Personal Floatation Device (aka lifejacket) while underway on recreational vessels under 21 feet in length on Maryland waters.

Building Registration Fee

Condominium registration fee is $75 per condominium and includes 6 facility & 2 parking passes. Additional facility passes are $70 per pass, per person per week.

Townhomes & homes registration fee is $100 per unit and includes 6 facility & 3 parking passes. Additional facility passes are $70 per pass, per person per week.

Note: From October 1st to may 15th the fee is $50 for townhouse & single family house and $38 for condo.

June 17 – 20 MD State Firemen’s Association Convention

Annual convention for the Maryland Fire Rescue Service at 41st street & Convention Center. Training programs, business meetings & exhibits. The public is invited to come in & “meet the firemen” & see exhibits. Mon. – Wed. 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. Annual Parade. Equipment, bands, & floats (approx. 3 hours).

Boaters Information

Sunset Island offers no free boat slips. If you are bringing your boat you will need to call in advance and find out the requirements for a weekly rental. You will need to know the length and beam. Generally the rates are $350 a week and the length cannot exceed 25 feet. (Please call Main Street Properties at 240-499-6895).
Note: There is no on site boat launch but on the same street is located Advance Marina and they can launch your boat if it does not exceed their length and width requirements. To call Advance Marina 410-723-2124.

Trash Collection

Trash is collected by The Town of Ocean City an Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Trash containers are not permitted to be an the streets after 6 pm. on the day of pick-up and should be removed from the streets on all other days. If your trash container is missing or damaged, please call your rental company or Ocean City Department of Solid Waste 410-524-0318 for replacements.

Skateboarding in Sunset Island

Skateboarding is not permitted anywhere on Sunset Island or in Ocean City, MD. There is a skate park on 3rd Street in Ocean City.
